I started this website to give expression to the flow that is always looking for ways of giving shape to what lives within and wants to get out.
I was born in Middelburg in 1948 as Annemagreet Brouwer.
Through haikus, Paint and embroidery I show my respect for the soil of Zeeland under my feet while at the same time I ground the sea of feeling inside me.
In 2004 I discovered Paint which opened up a new world of graphic imaginative expression for me. The challenge that prompts me in Paint is to help the eye look from different angles and perspectives, again and again. Abandoning fixed views creates the freedom to discover new dimensions of reality, also in nature and other people's work. I love that space and I want to share it.
I want to express my gratitude to Olga van Trigt for the sensitive way in which she has translated my work on this website into English.
I am glad to say that she has generally managed to preserve both the essence and the haiku form.
